JOHN PAUL KEITH

SINGER, SONGWRITER, GUITARIST, PRODUCER.

A native of Knoxville, Tennessee and a 20-year veteran of the Memphis music scene, singer, songwriter, guitarist, and producer John Paul Keith has five critically acclaimed solo studio albums, including his latest, 2021’s The Rhythm of the City. His most recent release was 2022’s A World Like That: Live at B-Side.

John Paul has written songs recorded by soul pioneer Don Bryant, Memphis gospel artist Elizabeth King, and Chicago singer-songwriter Kelly Hogan. His songs have appeared in movies and television shows, including Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999), Hart of Dixie (2011), and Downsizing (2017).

JPK was a founding member of all-star Memphis Americana project Motel Mirrors, featuring Amy LaVere and Will Sexton. Formed in 2013, the band released two EP's and an LP, 2018's In The Meantime.

When he’s not writing and performing his own music, JPK also plays guitar as sideman for other artists. He can be heard on For the Universe, the 2024 debut album from Jerry Phillips, son of Sun Records founder Sam Phillips.

Since 2024, John Paul has held down lead guitar duties for singer/songwriter Nicole Atkins in her touring band, opening for the likes of The Mavericks and the iconic Stevie Nicks, and performing at Nashville's historic Ryman Auditorium.

John Paul Keith is currently at work producing the debut album for Memphis musical artist and actress Alexis Grace, and working on songs for his next record.
