Jerry Phillips Debut Album + Nicole Atkins Tour

I’m excited to share that the upcoming debut album from my friend Jerry Phillips, For the Universe, is coming this August, and I had the honor of playing guitar on it.

The first single, “Good Side, Bad Side, Side of Crazy Too” is out now and features the legendary Spooner Oldham on electric piano.

Jerry Phillips is the son of Sun Records founder Sam Phillips, and was a Sun Records artist himself as a part of the group The Jesters, featuring a young Jim Dickinson.

The album, For the Universe, was recorded in Memphis at Sam Phillips Recording Service, and will be out August 23 on Omnivore Records. Read my friend Bob Mehr’s piece on the album in the Commercial-Appeal.

I’m also excited to announce that I’ll be hitting the road this summer and fall playing guitar for Nicole Atkins, including two more nights opening for The Mavericks, August 16 and 17. See nicoleatkins.com for tickets and info.
